Why a Doula?

Every birth is as unique as the baby born from it. There is no way to fully predict how the birth will unfold, but your doula is a calm, knowledgeable presence to help you and your partner navigate the experience.

Doulas provide continuous support during labor and offer guidance with your birth preferences and goals in mind. She helps you to ask your care provider thoughtful questions and advocates for your informed consent.

Research has shown, those who birth with a labor doula have:

• reduced rates of cesarean delivery

• fewer requests for pain medication

• decreased use of augmentation medication

• reduced rates of forceps and vacuum delivery

• a shorter overall labor

• increased rates maternal satisfaction

• increased rates of breastfeeding initiation

Type Of Service and Package Offered:

Labor/Birth Package:

Your Doula’s role is to empower, encourage, and support you. Our Labor/Birth Doula service includes a private, in-home labor lesson, pregnancy and labor support, and postpartum visits to make sure you have everything you need to thrive as a new parent. This package includes:

• 2 Birth/Postpartum Prep visits (both visits should be in 3rd trimester/at least 30 weeks)

• Birthing and Postpartum Plan

• On call support 24-hours a day, beginning at 37 weeks of gestation

• Continuous Labor/Birth Support in a safe environment of your choice (hospital, birthing center, home)

• Mother’s Blessing Ceremony

• Initial Lactation/infant feeding & skin-to-skin support

• 2 In-home Postpartum Sessions (Both visits should occur within 6 weeks after birth)

• Monthly virtual check-ins up to 6 months postpartum (starting after the initial 2 in-home postpartum sessions)

• 1 Mommy and Baby in home yoga session (baby must be at least 2 months)

• In-home postpartum Massage for Mom with nap; Doula will care for baby in-home for Mom during massage and nap

• Support begins immediately after contract is signed
